Imagine a 6 foot 3 model becoming a volleyball star. Or the tall daughter of a champion prizefighter knocking out the daughter of another champ. Or an Olympic swimmer stripping and turning into Tarzan. Or a gigantic baritone looming over the stage action like an awesome Dionysian deity. These are just four of the many true stories in the book.
According to the requirements of today’s Tall Clubs, women who are five foot ten and over and men who are six foot two and over are candidates for membership. Following this decree, I have written the fascinating stories of 115 individuals. What makes the list all the more amazing is the fact that only 3.9% of U.S. men are six foot two or taller and a mere 0.7% of U.S. women are five foot ten or taller. Don’t expect the pages in this book to be solely filled with basketball players. In addition to those obvious choices, there are actors, authors, congressmen, statesmen, historic and biblical figures, supermodels, dancers, singers, university heads, U.S. presidents and a president’s wife, plus top sports stars in every field.
